Hear the Ripples
By:
Shi, Nika
Like river that carve through stone, unseen.
Like seeds that sprout in shadow, green.
Praying for wind to take you far,
You lay and settled blind.
But you are no less a mountain tall,
For standing where the quiet fall.
Waves don't sink in drifting sand,
Love endures in empty lands.
Your presence alone makes all things whole,
Like flowers pressed between pages bloom and glow.
With vision on your forehead clear,
Fate offers destined steer.
In every vein, a pulse, a beat;
In every soul, a spark, complete.
The way you bend the air,
The rhythm of your pulse;
For that your worth isn’t waited to be found,
It’s been beating within you all along.

Deciduous Trees and Fire Hydrants
The poem compares life's transient nature, symbolized by deciduous trees and stationary fire hydrants, to human experiences of fleeting happiness and enduring melancholy. It emphasizes the beauty of genuinely feeling, remembering, and cherishing moments, especially amid loss and sadness.
