Transactional Beauty
As I walk my lonesome morning trot
I peer above my particular plane
The trees above boast glistening knots
The dawnlight prancing without feigning.
And so the abounding ferocity clambers
Into the recesses of my mind’s chambers
The elegant tragedy of wanting to join
But knowing the sanctity of such coin
Rage unchecked by reasonable thought
Pains me yet by internal fraught.
My bones themselves convulse with fury.
I know not why this tree angers me so,
I yearn to grasp the beauty it shows.
But this existence heedeth not,
To the unrequited love
Bursting ere that tree above.

Deciduous Trees and Fire Hydrants
The poem compares life's transient nature, symbolized by deciduous trees and stationary fire hydrants, to human experiences of fleeting happiness and enduring melancholy. It emphasizes the beauty of genuinely feeling, remembering, and cherishing moments, especially amid loss and sadness.
